Bring a taste of Ireland to the table.

Made with our Irish-Style Flour (coarsely ground from red whole wheat berries) our Irish Soda Bread has a crunchy crust and a crumbly crumb. Its mild flavor makes it a perfect vehicle for sweet cream butter, a dab of orange marmalade, or your favorite jam. We've been told it's a little taste of Ireland, but you be the judge.

Homemade bread is one of life's greatest pleasures, and our mixes help you bake it easily at home. Made with only the simple, good, non-GMO ingredients you want and nothing you don't: no artificial sweeteners or flavors, no artificial colors, and no high-fructose corn syrup. You'll be serving fresh bread from the oven in no time.

Bake in a soufflé pan, an 8" round cake pan or Dutch oven. To change from traditional Irish to American-style, follow our recipe below.

American Style Soda Bread

  • Irish Soda Bread Mix
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds, optional
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk

Grease soufflé pan (about 7" x 3½" tall), 8" round cake pan, cast iron skillet, or Dutch oven.
Whisk together mix, sugar, and caraway seeds, if using.
Cut in butter until crumbly. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and milk, and add to dry ingredients, mixing just until moistened.
Loosely shape into a round ball and place in the prepared pan. The dough will be soft. Lightly sprinkle with flour, then use a knife to cut a cross into the top.
Bake in a preheated 375°F oven 40 to 55 minutes, until crusty on top and a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before turning out onto a rack to cool completely.
Yield: one loaf.
