Made from porous clay stoneware, the cloche has a lid that traps steam generated by the baking bread and emulates a steam-injected oven, making the crispy, crackly crust of your dreams (and a moist, chewy interior, too.) Lower rim on the base makes it easy to transfer your dough before baking. Convenient handle on top of cloche makes it easy to remove the lid with oven mitts. Exclusive glaze on the outside of the lid is as stunning as it is practical. Glazing makes it easy to clean as well as keeping your cloche looking pretty and presentable. The unglazed bottom will develop a patina over time to prevent your loaves from sticking.
Test kitchen tips
Coat the inside of your pan with neutral oil before each use; a nice patina will develop over time. Additionally, sprinkle a thin layer of cornmeal or semolina into the bottom of the oiled pan to prevent sticking.
